Fort Scorpio, Distance

I've been having a lot of fun playing on Minecraft now that I have it, and here's my fortress.

In my world, I lucked out and spawned near a small town, so when monsters attacked, I would just cower in one of the houses. Pretty quickly the zombies killed off all the villagers, so I took one house near the edge for my own and slowly over time tore down all the other houses and structures in the town (since no people were around to complain). I then started building up on my own house with the scavenged materials from the other houses and eventually I started mining to get more materials. Once upon a time, I did have wooden outer parts to my house, but I came back from mining one time and the place was partially burned down. I don't know how that happened (I suspect lighting), but after that, I decided that the entire exterior wall would be all cobblestone, so the place burning down won't happen again.  

Now, I've been talking about my "farming orbital plate" to some of my friends. See those kinda cage looking things at the top of my fortress tower? That's what they are. There are four plates, one branching off each side of the top of my fortress, and each plate has a crop and animal housed there. More will be said about that in another thing I'll upload soon.

I took this screen shot while standing on the top of a mountain in the distance from my fortress. This mountain is the same one I am hollowing out to make another base, but I'll get to that later.
